After refusing a move to Saudi Arabia, he almost returned to Spain, but Barcelona’s financial terms made him decide to sign with Inter Miami.

Ahead of Messi’s debut at Inter Miami, club co-owner David Beckham could be seen helping workers put the finishing touches on Messi’s mural, reportedly authored by his wife Victoria.

Messi has also been joined in Inter Miami’s squad by former Barça player Sergio Busquets. The club will also hold a presentation for Messi called The Unveil on July 16 at their home stadium.
Inter Miami is at the bottom of the MLS Eastern Conference and is ranked 28th out of 29 clubs in the league. The arrival of Messi and Busquets will be key for the club, who have also appointed former Barcelona manager Tata Martino as their new manager.
