The tall 31-year-old cricketer added that his team knew the importance of the match against Scotland and had real chances, but in the end failed to get over the line.
We knew what was at stake and we still had a chance to qualify. We had a good opportunity to beat Scotland and beat them, but we didn’t.
This is probably one of the lowest moments I’ve had with a team. But, you know, there are still a lot of positives. I was very happy for Nicholas Puran, the way he played throughout the competition. And it’s good that some of the young guys got the opportunity to play on the big stage, he said.
Holder said that no short-term measures will help West Indies cricket, and change must happen at the grassroots level.
It’s not a quick fix, it could be over the last couple of years, he added.
