Originally scheduled for Sept. 10-25 last year, the Asian Games in Huangzhou will be held from Sept. 23 to Oct. 8 this year after being postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. All India Football Federation (AIFF) general secretary Shaji Prabhakaran told PTI that an appeal would be sent to the government authorities to allow soccer teams to participate in the September games in China. This is a decision taken by the government. So we have to abide by it. However, we will request the government to reconsider the decision regarding soccer, Prabhakaran said.
