It is reported that the Premier League team has made contact with Fiorentina regarding the transfer of Sofiane Amrabat, who shined for the Moroccan national team at the 2022 World Cup. But now, according to reports, Barcelona has also entered the race for the midfielder. The La Liga team even tried to acquire the midfielder during the previous transfer window and sees him as a replacement for Sergio Busquets.
Furthermore, Amrabat would be a cheaper option compared to other midfielder contenders such as Ruben Neves and Joshua Kimmich. In addition, his contract with Fiorentina expires in 2024. In January, Barcelona made a lease plus option offer, which was rejected by the Serie A team.

Eric ten Hague has managed Amrabat before and this could turn the tide in United’s favor. The former Ajax head coach was in charge of Utrecht when Amrabat was training at their academy.
The midfielder has also praised Ten Hague in the past. Talking to The Athletic, he said: It was so important to me. It was my second year with the first team. He made a plan for me. He asked me about my strengths and what I would like to improve on.
From day one he kept me busy. Not just with me, with all the players. A lot of coaches deal with the team as a whole, but he spent a lot of time working individually because he knew if a person was better, the team would be better. After every game he would show me videos and explain everything. I was 18 or 19 years old, so sometimes I would think, What, again? but now looking back, I realize it was so important to my career. I learned a lot from him, he added.
