Argentina’s seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi announced last month that he was moving to a Major League Soccer club after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired.
The opening main event will include exciting entertainment, speeches on the field and more, the club said in a press release, which did not mention Messi’s name.
Messi, who won the World Cup with Argentina in December, is expected to be joined in Miami by his former Barcelona partner and former Spain midfielder Sergio Busquets, and the pair could be introduced together.
The club recently appointed former Barcelona and Argentina coach Gerardo Tata Martino as the team’s head coach.
Messi is expected to make his debut on July 21 against Mexican club Cruz Azul in the new League Cup, a tournament between MLS and Mexican major league clubs.
Inter Miami principal owner Jorge Mas said the club could make three to five acquisitions during the current transfer window.
Inter Miami is at the bottom of the MLS Eastern Conference and ranks 28th out of 29 clubs in the league.
After his appointment, Martino stated that he had spoken with Messi and Busquets about their upcoming move to an MLS club.
