The new set uses the spirit and attitude of the 2003/04 Invincibles team, marking the beginning of the 20th anniversary of Arsenal’s undefeated Premier League season. The Arsenal crest, adidas logo and three stripes on each sleeve are in gold, and the team’s record of 26 wins and 12 draws in 38 games that historic season is engraved on the side of the authentic version of the jersey.
Arsenal legend, Ray Parlor, said: Having played that season twenty years ago surrounded by so many great players, I will never forget it, and it’s great to be celebrating our club’s history with this new home jersey, which I think all fans will love.
The field version of the jersey is sewn with HEAT.RDY technology, optimized to keep players comfortable during performances on the biggest stage thanks to breathable fabric technology that absorbs moisture and dries quickly. The cheerleader version of the jersey features AEROREADY technology, which uses sweat-absorbing or moisture-absorbing materials to keep the body dry.
At least 70 percent of this product is a blend of recycled and renewable materials, continuing adidas’ ongoing commitment to end plastic waste. Earlier this year, adidas announced that it is ahead of schedule in its quest to replace virgin polyester with recycled polyester in its products wherever possible by the end of 2024. In 2022, 96 percent of all polyester used by adidas was recycled.
The new kit will first be worn on the field when Arsenal Women’s meets Aston Villa in the final game of the WSL season on Saturday, May 27. The men’s team will also wear the new uniforms in the last Premier League game against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday, May 28.
